We've been seeing what you wanted,
                                Got us cornered right now
                              Falling asleep from our vanity
                                   May cost us our lives

Ethan felt Sky lean against him, using him for support. His long autumn-burn hair was a tangled mess pulled unto a messy tail. His left shoulder was wrapped tightly with bloody bandages, more bandages wrapped around the calf of his left leg.

The bloody moon high in the sky, not moving an inch from it's peak. The eerie crimson glow did little to light their way, and only increased their fear.

How they got in this mess, living in fear and always on the run, who can say. Now they, as well as everyone else, lives in this eternal night, and there is no way out. Where humans once walked, dangers mobs now stroll.

Blood had become as common as dye, buildings long ago abandon now empty and broken. Everything had been warped, Endermen no longer neutral, peaceful mods not nutral, ready to attack back.

This nightmare, Herobrine's creation, humanity now forced to run and always glance behind.

                                 I hear them getting closer
Their howls are sending chills down my spine
And time is running out now,
They're coming down the hills from behind

Together they pushed forward, neither daring to look behind. Both of Sky's legs trembled with strain, if he stopped now, he wouldn't be able to start again.

The howls, growls and groans, screams and screeches, creeks of bone, all a loud din that chased after them, getting closer. The closely packed trees offered some relief, it sheltered them from arrows, and hindered the mass behind them from advance to fast.

One step, then another.

All they could do for now was run. The spiders where advancing the fastest, moving over the open tops of trees, but the branches hindered them from leaping down and attacking from above.

                                       When we start killing
It all will be falling down
From the hell that we're in
All we are is fading away

Sky screeched, Ethan glanced back at him, and them the mods where upon them.

It was time to fight, no more running. The smell of blood, old and new, became a choking scent.

This was their reality, a hellish one as that, fighting every hour just to live another moment.

Ethan grimaced, they had limited time, Sky was already practically the walking dead, and he was battered enough as it was.

The mobs came as them wave upon wave, giving them no break and no pause for breath. The trees kept them from being swarmed with the full force, but that was all they did.

With a skilled slash, he kept a zombie from closing getting to close to Sky, the autumn-burn firing arrow after arrow, eyes honed and reflexes quick.

                                        Is this the ending
                                       Of what we've begun?
                                        Will we remember
                                      What we've done wrong?

Herobrine is stronger that any mob, he is a demon. And as such, he has the power to match god. But he has one flaw, he underestimates human will.

It was amusing to watch the two mortals fight. They were already so broken and battered from the night, yet they still got up and fought.

Sky and Ethan were tired of it all. Tired of the fighting, the carnage, the death, the loss, and the tears. They clung fast to their memories, using the good times to give them strength, now they would end it.

They would end this night.

It was time for the sun to rise once again.

                                            When we start killing
It's all coming down right now
                                      From the nightmare we've created
I want to be awakened somehow

Time slowed to a painful crawl. In slow motion, or it felt that way, he watched as Herobrine appeared behind Sky, and in a heartbeat, forced his diamond blade thought his stomach.

Blood pounded in his ears, tears burning his eyes, as time returned to it's normal pace. Anger burned bright, engulfing him and forcing him forward. Blinded and driven by hatred, Ethan slashed wildly,  his lips pulled into a snarl. His soul called for revenge, hate had cast it's unbreakable spell.

In the blink of an eye, blood filled his mouth with it's iron taste. He could see Herobrine's blade lodged in his torso, blood falling to the ground, his blood. Then he crashed to the ground, facing Sky.

"Is this the end?" he asked, coughing up more blood.

"Yes, but not just for us,"

"One last stand?"

"One last stand."

Joining hands, together they hauled themselves to their feet, legs shaking.

Ethan, with a grunt of pain, yanked the blade from his torso, a fresh spurt of blood following.

Sky raised his bow, and let the arrow fly, at the Same time, Ethan charged.

The arrow sank deep withing the demon's skull, moments later, after he had turned, Ethan snake the sword deep into his chest, piercing the heart.

                                             The sun is rising
                                           The screams have gone
                                            Too many have fallen
                                            Few still stand tall

Together they dragged themselves out the Herobrine layer, the last of their strength giving out at the entrance. Sky was the first to fall, his legs giving way beneath him, Ethan falling with him.

Together they watched dawn lighten the sky, until day finally came.

For the first time in years, the sun finally rose to chase the mobs away, and the moon finally bowed it's head to rest.

Sky turned to face Ethan. Both were tired, and they were both in pain, but now, they could finally rest.

"Ethan, I love you." Sky whispered.

"Love you to, Sky."

Finally, the two released their last breath, together falling into a rest they deserved, together.

Their bodies where found soon after, and they were buried where they had started. Their work was done, now it was up to the remained of humanity to pick up the pieces and rebuild all that was broken.
