Pain. It kept blooming like a crimson flower is his limbs and chest. It felt like something was constricting him when he needed air the most. Rythain let out a cry that was choked out. It was looking more and more as if the puppeteer would win, but it was also looking as if he would die.

Rythain kept fighting against his restrains, the thread thin bonds strained, but didn't frey of snap.

"Duncan... Duncan!"

The haze in his mind lessened, but not enough for him to see of hear, or even feel. The ender mage felt hope fade, and despair settle in it's place.

"Rythain!"

Rythain snapped his eyes open and stared into the grey haze. Duncan, he's still there.

"He's, fighting... fighting for me."

The realization gave him an extra burst of strength. He still needed to fight, he needed to be free. He could feel the puppeteers surprise, he wasn't a weak minded fool, he would fight.

"Fool."

Rythain felt more threads constrict him, keeping him from moving. A single tear fell down Rythain's cheek before his eyes were covered.

"Duncan, I'm sorry."

Duncan hisses as a mass of fire barely missed his back, and ducked from the path of a projectile. Shadow was using every scrap of power she could pull from the mage, his violet eyes vacant, except from the gleam of deep pain within those violet orbs.

The mage's reaction time was slowing, only slightly, but enough to be noticed. Shadow was willing to do anything to stop him, even kill Rythain from exerting the life soul power. Duncan's options were few and most were grim.

He could either let shadows use Rythain up, kill him, or run. two of those three would result in Rythain's death, the other would still leave the brown haired mage in the hold of The Shadow Puppeteer. He still had a few options left; surrender, die, or do something very drastic and maybe possibly suicidal.

He had 6 options, 5 of them would resulting in one of them dead or still enslaved. He didn't want Rythain dead, and he certainly didn't want to leave him as Shadow's puppet, But if he ran, the others would die.

The more he thought about it, there was really only one option, and that was to do something drastic.

"But what am I able to do?" he wondered.

"Shadow is a manipulative entity who's allied to Israphel and Herobrine, and had one of the most powerful mages ever at her disposal?"

Duncan tightened his grip on the hilt of his blade, there was one thing.

"I'm gambling, grasping at straws, but it's all I can do now."

Duncan gave the puppeteer the deadliest glare he could muster, his emerald eyes burning with a personal fire, and charged at Rythain.

Duncan's gambling here, cause he doesn't know if Shadow is immortal of not, or how hard it is to kill her.
